Northern Virginia Ballet Fairfax Theatre reviews
Disappointed
I've seen plays recently, including ones on Broadway in NYC, such as Mama Mia, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Motown, and more. The costumes were odd, although extravagant. Songs were too long with many verses, making the play nearly three hours. An inappropriate pitch for donations was made at the end, asking for more money when a drive could be set up online or with season ticket holders. Off-color jokes were overused, and the play had a bit of a political undertone. I almost walked out due to the lack of diversity. The BJCC was miserable, with the seating area being so small that my knees dug into the seat in front of me, despite being only 5'7". It was sweltering hot, and the floors were filthy, causing my shoe to stick every time I moved.
